She fits in perfectly with Taylor’s tour and was able to get the crowd on their feet with songs like “Best Days Of Your Life,” “Red High Heels,” and “Things That Never Cross A Man’s Mind.”Ĭheck out Kellie’s killer shoes! We all know she’s a shoe girl, but even she admitted last night that she has a feeling that one of these days she might fall down on stage! The shoes don’t mix with the ramp on either side of the stage!īefore Taylor Swift took the stage, an intro video filled with cameos by some of Taylor famous friends- Miley Cyrus, George Eads ( CSI), Faith Hill, and Garth Brooks appeared on the giant screens on each side of the stage. I love the girl, don’t get me wrong, she always makes me laugh and I sing along with her songs, but she doesn’t have that “wow” factor just yet. She’s cute and bubbly and has a very likable personality…but as a singer/performer she’s just mediocre. Next up, Kellie Pickler… I’ve seen Kellie a few times before and like the other times I’ve seen her, I really don’t have much to say. I like that they stand apart from other country music boy/girl groups…I have a feeling we’ll be hearing a lot more from Gloriana! If you haven’t checked them out yet, you need to! Head on over to their MySpace and take a listen to their single “Wild At Heart,” you won’t be disappointed. There’s a touch of bluegrass/country/pop in their sound and it really works for them. Their harmonies are amazing and their sound is very unique. I have to say I was extremely impressed by Gloriana’s set! They really know how to work a crowd and they have great stage presence for being so new to the touring scene. They also told me that they check on a regular basis, which was really cool to hear! After the interview, I took my seat to watch their set. (We’ll have a video interview posted soon!) Michael, Tom, Cheyenne, and Rachel were extremely nice and loved all the questions the fans sent in. The choice outfit for the evening: sundresses and cowboy boots!! It was cute to see all the girls dressed up like Taylor!īefore the show, I spent some time with the opening group, Gloriana. Incredibly beautiful and true, Fearless should be considered,a long with Gilliam's The Fisher King, one of the most overlooked gems of modern times.Taylor Swift’s “Fearless Tour” stopped in Jacksonville, FL last night and CountryMusicIsLove had the opportunity to review the show! People of all ages turned out for the show, but as you can imagine, the sold-out arena was full of young girls. The film ends on an incredibly moving note. Look out for an early, rather excellent performance by Benecio Del Toro, too. Perez's much maligned Carla is solid enough. The cast is uniformly excellent, with Bridges and Rosselini (as his wife) particularly good. Posing genuinely thought-provoking questions, yet never didactic or vague, Fearless makes you reconsider your own actions and their affect on other people. However, Fearless is something a cut above his usual high standard. He has yet to make a bad film, and even struggles to make mediocre ones. Peter Weir is probably one of the best filmmakers currently working. From here, he helps others come to terms with their loss, including Rosie Perez's Calrla. He is no longer allergic to strawberries, something that nearly killed him as a child, for example. However, he emerges from the accident a changed man, believing he has found a previously lost spirituality. Jeff Bridges is Max Klein, a victim of a horrific air crash that kills his best friend. It's a film about hope, about those who bring it and lose it, a film about love and ultimately a film about the kindness of strangers. In total, the recreation cost $2 million.įearless is a film about how one event can change lives forever. The crash site took a total of 10 days to prepare, and included throwing 600 suitcases and their contents (all items purchased from local thrift stores) liberally around the site. One of the town's main roads was closed for a week, and the local electricity company was persuaded to knock down several pylons and snarl up half a mile of electric cable to create a scene of almost total devastation. 140 extras were employed for the scene along with 40 members of the Kern County and Bakersfield Fire Department. The adjoining cotton field was also purchased to make the crash appear bigger. The field was first planted with 85 acres of corn which was then bulldozed to recreate the gouge that a crashing plane would have made. The "accident" was reported by several flights flying over the scene. The airplane crash site was recreated in a field in Central California in the Southern San Joaquin Valley and was exactly modeled on a crash that occurred outside Sioux City in Iowa in 1989.
